| The Künnecke CISS is a difficult machine to pigeonhole owing to its flexibility. It starts as a card transport onto which many different modules can be added to create a unique machine. You can start with an input hopper, a transport, a reading device and an output hopper and build up to a very complex system. There are CISS machines installed for card inspection, card perso (thermo and laser engraving), card labelling (activation stickers as well as scratch off labels), card packaging as well as for card sorting. Over the years, the CISS for sorting has developed into a more dedicated machine. There comes a point at which adding another transport base and 4 hoppers still isn't going to enable you to store and sort all of your cards. Hence, the development of the Card Kiosk and the Automatic Vault. The CISS can be configured with a choice of the following modules: multiple input hoppers, card reading / identification devices (camera, barcode reader, contact chip, RFID, magstripe reader), sequencer sorting module, laser engraving, magstripe encoding, labeller, print and apply labeller, cross banding, multiple output hoppers. A CISS can be used for applications such as card verification, card perso, card labelling, card sorting, card packaging.
The Card Kiosk can also be configured with the above modules but at its heart is a cabinet full of sequencer storage racks. The Card Kiosk can be used to prepare rainbow decks from pre-loaded blank cards or it can be used for branch sorting of personalised cards.
The DCS or Automatic Vault (also known as the Quarterpack and the Magic Cube) can be configured with the above modules but at its heart are multiple storage and sorting cabinets. The DCS can be used to prepare rainbow decks from pre-loaded blank cards. It can also be used to store and then pick personalised cards such as ID cards, feeding them into a CISS for grouping, banding and labelling.
